I believe Mr. Purcell was a roommate to my dad, W. O. Austin, during WWII at Oteen in Asheville, NC. My dad often talked fondly of Mr. Purcell and we have many photos of them together at Oteen. I will share his passing with my mother who lives in an assisted living facility near me now. I believe Richard Paine painted a portrait of Mr. Purcell while they were in Oteen, just as he did of my dear dad. Three good men are talking about friendships born out of a war that saved the world for democracy as they enjoy heaven! May God bless your family with the peace only He can provide. Trudy Cox
